My name is Alyssa Cleland and I am the founder of Alcequine! I wanted to build a brand that could help bridge the gap between "two-leggers" and amputees.

 

All my life I have been a little different. I was born with Paraxial Tibial Hemimelia, which is the reason for my prosthetic. And in case you were wondering about the missing middle fingers too... it's called Ectradactyly- commonly paired with PTH.

 

Having these pointed out in negative ways online and in-person my whole life made me want to crush the "norms" when it comes to what is beautiful. I don't see missing a leg or middle fingers, as a flaw, I see it as an opportunity to find myself, build a brand, and bring some unique style to the world!
